Rule 17a-7 proposed amendments would expand eligible securities and change cross-trade pricing, compliance reviews, and fund reporting. The SEC’s October 2026 proposal would permit cross trades in more fixed-income securities while revising pricing and oversight conditions. The amendments are not yet effective. Fund and RIA compliance teams should distinguish current requirements from proposed changes before revising trading policies or restarting restricted transactions.
