Attorney Kim Cheol was commissioned as a prosecutor at the Northern Branch of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office and served as a prosecutor at the Haenam Branch of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and, after serving as a deputy chief prosecutor at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, went on to serve as chief prosecutor of the trial division at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office and as chief prosecutor of the violent crime division at the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office. Based on his long tenure as a prosecutor, he possesses an abundant track record in criminal cases such as drug crimes and sex crimes. In particular, having served as a prosecutor in the drug investigation division of the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office—one of the three major drug-investigation hub prosecutors' offices—as senior prosecutor of the violent crime division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, as deputy chief prosecutor at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, and as chief of the violent crime division (dedicated to drug and organized-crime investigations) at the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, he possesses expert knowledge of drug cases from investigation through trial.
