From price and budget policy to international economic cooperation, he is an economic and fiscal expert who has designed bridges between public policy and private investment based on 35 years of public service experience. Since entering public service as an Administrative Officer at the Ministry of Government Administration, he has led overall public policy by overseeing policies in the price, budget, industry, and social fields at central national finance institutions including the Economic Planning Board, the Ministry of Planning and Budget, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. In particular, he has made substantial contributions to domestic fiscal policy as well as international trade and cooperation by serving in major positions such as Vice Minister of Strategy and Finance, Senior Secretary to the President for Economic Affairs, and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the OECD. Based on the experience accumulated at the front lines of policy and coordination, including as Director of the Private Investment System Team at the Ministry of Planning and Budget, Director of Planning and Budget at the Ministry of National Defense, and Director of Budget Coordination at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, he provides professional insights into legal and fiscal issues accompanying public investment and budget execution. Currently, he serves as a distinguished professor at Hankyong National University, nurturing future generations while actively continuing lectures and advisory activities spanning both public and private sectors.
