I briefly rented a car at a travel destination, and while driving around, I caused a drunk driving traffic accident through my own negligence. Because my driving experience is short and insufficient, the accident happened, and I am curious about how much the self-payment deductible would be if an accident occurs while driving a rented car like this/how much I would have to compensate the rental car company/and what happens if I cannot pay compensation. Please organize the drunk driving sentencing materials and provide an answer.

Under the standard terms and conditions for car rental, when an accident occurs, damages may be compensated within the coverage scope of the automobile insurance, the vehicle own-damage insurance, or the vehicle damage waiver program entered into by the car rental business operator.
However, where the damage arises from any one of the following grounds attributable to the customer or the driver named in the rental agreement, and where it falls under the exemption items set forth in the automobile insurance terms, part or all of the compensation may not be received.
In your case, because you caused damage resulting from a drunk driving accident, there is a strong likelihood that you will not be compensated, and there is a high likelihood that you will bear not only the vehicle repair costs but also the vehicle downtime charges during the repair period.
If you do not pay compensation for the damage, the rental car company may file a lawsuit claiming damages.
From a civil perspective, the situation is as follows, and from a criminal perspective, you should prepare drunk driving sentencing materials to obtain mitigation of the criminal punishment.
Representative drunk driving sentencing materials are as follows.
-A letter of apology containing sincere reflection
-A petition from acquaintances stating that there is no concern of reoffending
-A settlement agreement containing the settlement with the victim, and a statement of no wish for punishment
-A family relation certificate proving that there are family members to support
-A financial account transaction statement proving that you are the head of the household
-A volunteer activity certificate showing that you are contributing to society
-An abstinence clinic confirmation proving prevention of reoffending, and a psychological therapy completion certificate
Your situation appears to involve significant liability in both civil and criminal respects. You may wish to seek a consultation with an attorney.
