Narcotics attorney, it seems that a colleague at my company is using drugs. But he is not only using them himself; he also urges others to do so and the like, so I am just going to report him. So, as I was looking into it, I heard that reporting a narcotics offense comes with a benefit; could I find out what benefit one receives?

If you voluntarily report a narcotics offense, you can receive a benefit under the narcotics reward system.
This system provides for a reward to be paid to a person who reports or accuses a narcotics offense to an investigative agency, or who apprehends the offender, before the offense is detected. However, where a public official reports, accuses, or apprehends in connection with their duties, they are excluded from the recipients of the reward.
The procedure for paying the reward is as follows.
First, the reporter submits an application for payment of the reward to the Minister of Justice, through the chief prosecutor of the competent district prosecutors' office.
Upon receiving the application, the competent chief prosecutor forwards it to the Minister of Justice through the Prosecutor General in February and August each year, and the Minister of Justice decides whether to pay it through deliberation by the Narcotics Reward Payment Deliberation Committee.
Thereafter, the result of the decision is notified to the applicant through the chief prosecutor of the competent district prosecutors' office, and the payment procedure proceeds.
Reporting a narcotics offense is a system through which one can be recognized for contributing to crime prevention and investigation while also receiving legal and financial benefits, and it is important to proceed after accurately checking the reporting procedure and the documents to be submitted.
If necessary, it is advisable to proceed systematically and safely with the assistance of a narcotics attorney who has ample relevant experience.
Through a consultation, a narcotics attorney accurately and safely guides you through the procedures for reporting a narcotics offense and applying for the reward.
For details, we recommend confirming them through a consultation with a narcotics attorney.
