尹대통령, 국민통합보고회에서 “자유 삭제하려는 대규모 세력 존재, 통합 어려운 국가”

The opposition camp, including the Democratic Party, is recognized as a ‘freedom erasure force’ and ideologically divides the people with ‘freedom’ values.
Kim Han-gil, “President Yoon is working hard to realize the people’s active freedom and happiness, and is a policy direction and methodology.”

[Poly News Reporter Jeong Chan] At the ‘National Integration Promotion Strategy and Performance Reporting Meeting’ on the 21st, President Yoon Seok-yeol did not hide his perception of the opposition party and progressive camp as “forces that seek to erase freedom by erasing it,” and expressed that national integration is difficult.

President Yoon mentioned integration in the constitutional sense at the held at the Yongsan Presidential Office this afternoon, saying, "I am a person who studied law, so in Germany, what would you say is a mechanism for national integration, and that is enshrined in the Constitution. So, I see the Constitution as a process and a mechanism for achieving a certain assimilated integration of the people. In the end, I think it refers to a certain value-oriented integration process contained in the Constitution."

He went on to say, “In our country, there are forces with such large-scale opinions that argue that freedom should be erased from the liberal democracy of the Constitution, and that is why it is a country where stable integration is very difficult.” This reveals the perception that national unity is not possible because the current opposition camp, including the Democratic Party, is an anti-constitutional force that does not recognize ‘freedom.’

However, the current opposition party does not deny the meaning of liberal democracy, but rather denies the view that the term ‘democracy’ contains the connotation of ‘liberal democracy.’ It can be seen as dividing the people ideologically by emphasizing only the ‘freedom’ values of President Yoon himself and the conservative camp.

Furthermore, President Yoon said, “If the government grows rapidly and makes an economic leap forward, some kind of integration may be achieved in the process,” indicating that in the current reality, economic growth should be pursued with a conservative policy stance based on market freedom rather than integration.

However, President Yoon mentioned the need for conflict resolution, saying, “When social conflict and division are serious, all of our precious production values that we should enjoy as welfare are used up in fighting division and conflict, so there is a lot of social waste, and there are many cases where things that future generations should enjoy are used up as weapons in this fight, so reducing this social conflict and division and uniting the people as one is truly very important for national development and overcoming the crisis.”

Kim Han-gil, Chairman of the National Integration Committee, reported at this event, "The National Integration Committee also reviewed what must be done and what can be done for national integration and selected national integration promotion strategies and key tasks as a roadmap to be promoted for the next five years. In particular, next year, 2023, we will use the two themes of youth and the socially underprivileged as the main framework, and select tasks with high national interest and timeliness to find solutions."

He continued, "President Yoon is working hard to realize the people's active freedom and happiness more than any other president. National integration is a policy direction and methodology that translates the President's philosophy and passion for state affairs in a way that touches the skin of the members of our society."

Chairman Kim also said, “I am sure I am not the only one who feels uneasy every time I see the President working tirelessly despite the tight schedule amidst unpredictable situations every day,” and added, “The path that constantly moves toward national unity is the path to a happy Republic of Korea and at the same time, the path to honoring President Yoon Seok-yeol as a successful president.”

Attending the briefing session were National Integration Committee Chairman Kim Han-gil, Choi Jae-cheon, representative attorney at the Heritage Law Firm, Seoul National University Professor Lee Woo-young, National Assembly Research Institute Adjunct Professor Cha In-soon, Kyung Hee University Professor Kim Min-jeon, former National Assembly member Kim Young-woo, and Konkuk University Professor Lee Hyun-chul.
