The opening of New York and Tokyo offices is also in progress.

Daeryun Law Firm (Limited) achieved sales of 112.7 billion won last year and ranked among the top 10 law firms. This is an achievement achieved only 9 years after establishment, and it is the fastest growing among domestic law firms. Daeryun's side cites the one-firm (one law firm) system as the background for its rapid growth. The strategy is for the headquarters to systematically manage law offices spread across the country to provide the same high-quality legal services everywhere.

Daeryun currently operates 44 offices nationwide, including the main office in Gangnam. There are about 300 experts, including lawyers with expertise in various fields such as corporate law, criminal affairs, and labor, as well as accountants, customs experts, tax accountants, patent attorneys, and labor attorneys. Daeryun plans to provide a ‘one-stop legal hospital’ service from case filing to consultation and court trials through law offices across the country. To accurately diagnose the case, a consulting lawyer assigned to each office meets with the client face-to-face, and after the consultation, the specialized allocation team located at the Gangnam main office identifies the type, nature, and scale of the case and assigns the most appropriate lawyer. Daeryun explained, “We provide optimized legal support by managing cases discussed at offices across the country from our head office.”

Establishment of Litigation Management Headquarters for smooth case handling

Daeryun also established a new litigation management headquarters last month to ensure smooth case handling. We manage cases by field, including criminal, civil, administrative, and domestic affairs, to minimize errors such as ▶poor defense ▶omission of information ▶lack of explanation of progress. This is the result of recognizing the importance of attending court with clients and participating in trials and proactively responding to this.

Daeryun also began reinforcing key personnel in each field. The corporate legal group recruited attorney Park Hyeong-geon (33rd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute), who worked as a judge at Daejeon District Court and Cheongju District Court, and attorney Gye-jun Son (36th class), a former secretary of the Fair Trade Commission, in November last year. In addition, lawyer Shin Jong-soo (31st class), who specializes in corporate litigation and consulting, and Cho Min-woo (3rd bar exam), a former technical hearing officer at the Intellectual Property Tribunal of the Seoul Central District Court, are leading major cases. The criminal group is led by lawyer Cho Young-gon (16th class), a former chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, who joined last January. Attorney Sang-won Yeo (17th class), who served as head of the Cheongju District Court's Yeongdong branch and a trial researcher at the Supreme Court, attorney Kwon-seop Ahn (25th class), a former deputy chief prosecutor at the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office, and Dong-jin Kim (39th class), a former prosecutor at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office who specialized in criminal, financial, and sexual crimes. General litigation is led by attorney Lee Sang-kwon (31st class), who first registered debt collection as a specialty with the Korean Bar Association. Attorney Lee joined last month and is responsible for the overall management of the debt collection center. In the medical/pharmaceutical field, attorney Song Jin-seong (twice a lawyer), a former trial researcher at the Supreme Court and a licensed medical doctor, joined last month as the head of the medical and pharmaceutical group. Last January, advisor Choi Myeong-soon, who served as deputy director of the National Health Insurance Corporation and head of the Gwangju branch of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, was recruited to strengthen the response to medical and pharmaceutical matters. The tax administration group was joined in turn by attorney Naewon Kwak (25th class), a former judge at the Seoul Administrative Court, and Jayoung Yoon (2nd class), a lawyer specializing in tax law.

Daeryun plans to expand overseas legal services. Last year, we recruited U.S. attorney Mia Kim (Washington, D.C.) to strengthen our advisory services on U.S. immigration law and visas. Attorney Choi Young-jin (5th class), an M&A expert who advised on the acquisition of overseas companies such as Vietnam and Canada, and Lee Jae-yoon (10th class), a former member of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Office of Regulatory Reform and Legal Affairs, were also recruited last year. The opening of local offices in New York, USA and Tokyo, Japan is also imminent. Last month, Daeryun signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Koriny, a comprehensive real estate platform that provides comprehensive real estate solutions in major cities such as New York, Boston, and LA. Kim Kook-il, CEO of Management, said, “We will provide customized consulting not only to domestic individuals and companies preparing to expand overseas, but also to local people and companies in each country.”

Daeryun plans to provide fast and accurate legal information to clients through ‘AI Daeryun’, an AI-based legal service program developed in-house. An internal AI service for affiliated lawyers is also scheduled to be introduced. The plan is to improve the speed and accuracy of work by increasing efficiency in data retrieval and writing. The launch of a comprehensive legal platform is also imminent. Through this application, we plan to minimize the inconvenience of our clients by helping them ▶ search for my case ▶ check the progress of the case.

Establishment of ‘Relationship Law’, an association to help the underprivileged

Daeryun established the public interest corporation ‘Relationship Law’ in February and is also working on public interest activities for the underprivileged. Former Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo (20th term) was appointed as the first chairman. Former National Tax Service Commissioner Kim Hyun-joon, who served as the National Tax Service's Tax Collection Legal Bureau Director and Planning and Coordinator, Hong Dae-sik, Chairman of the Law School Association, and Kim Seong-jin, a standing audit committee member of the Korea Exchange, also serve as non-registered directors. Through the Relationship Law, Daeryun plans to provide legal counseling and litigation services to vulnerable groups such as single-parent families, the disabled, and the elderly living alone, and to continue regular sponsorship and volunteer work. General Manager Kim Kuk-il said, "We were able to achieve rapid growth through change, innovation, and a spirit of challenge. Now, we will become a law firm that leads change in the global legal market beyond Korea," and added, "We will bring new vitality to the legal market."
