Recently, messenger phishing impersonating acquaintances, especially smishing fraud through KakaoTalk, has been rapidly increasing, requiring special caution.

As in this case, demanding gift certificates through messages or messengers impersonating parents is a very common type of electronic financial fraud.

In particular, there are many methods that disguise as wedding invitations, first birthday parties, etc., or pretend to be acquaintances' emergency situations to induce URL clicks, so when receiving messages or messenger texts, you must develop the habit of first verifying the facts by phone or other means.

Unfortunately, while it is difficult to fully recover the damaged amount, please immediately report to the police, request the gift certificate issuer to suspend use, and consult with related agencies such as the Financial Supervisory Service.

The damages refund procedure is as follows.

(1) Apply for damage relief to the financial company

(2) Suspension of payment for the relevant account
