When unfairly dismissed, how can I get remedy?

Hello, I'm wondering if traffic accident damage compensation can also be claimed. There was a traffic accident and I'm the perpetrator. The other party was injured and their vehicle was significantly damaged. They're demanding traffic accident damage compensation including treatment costs and property damage. I thought it would end with just insurance handling... if they claim compensation like this, do I have to pay?
