2nd Gyeongbuk Autonomous Police Committee members completed... Launching ceremony held on the 20th

The composition of the members who will lead the Gyeongbuk Autonomous Police Committee for the next three years has been completed.

Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 9th that it has recently completed the composition of the members of the 2nd Autonomous Police Committee and will hold an inauguration ceremony on the 20th.

In accordance with relevant laws, the autonomous police committee of each city and province is composed of a total of seven members based on nominations and recommendations from the provincial governor, provincial council, superintendent of education, national police committee, and member recommendation committee.

Gyeongbuk Province Governor Lee Cheol-woo appointed attorney Son Sun-hyuk (Chief Attorney at Daeryun Law Firm), who served as former Daegu High Prosecutors' Office Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Busan and Daegu District Prosecutors' Office, as Chairman of the Autonomous Police Committee.

The remaining six members of the recommendation committee recommended ▷Park Doo-jin, former director of the Hwarang Education Institute, ▷Park Joo-young, law professor at Andong University, ▷Bae Seong-hoon, former head of Gyeongbuk headquarters of Maeil Shinmun, ▷Son Young-jin, former chief of Daegu East Police Station, ▷Jeon Jeom-sook, advisory member of the Pohang City Council for Democracy, and ▷Jegaldon, professor emeritus of the Department of Public Administration at Andong University.

The gender ratio of the nomination and recommendation members is 5 men and 2 women, with the ratio of female members being 30%. The occupations include two professors, one each from lawyers, journalists, education, civic groups, and police.

The Secretary General of the Autonomous Police Committee is elected at a meeting among members after the inauguration ceremony.

Governor Lee said, “As the next Autonomous Police Committee is comprised of exemplary experts from various fields, we expect that local public safety services will be further improved.”
