According to data from the Korean National Police Agency, the amount of voice phishing damage increased about 47%, from 854.5 billion won in 2024 to 1.2578 trillion won the following year. The number of incidents also rose 12% over the same period, and as criminal methods have grown more sophisticated, cases are emerging that go beyond simple financial harm to people becoming implicated in crimes without even realizing it.
