1. The Jinju Attorney Reviews the Details of the Case

The Jinju attorney set out to review the details of the client's case.
The client reportedly had frequent disputes with the homeroom teacher. According to the client, there were many instances in which he was forced to apologize after being blamed even for things he had not done.
One day, the homeroom teacher reportedly called the client aside, pressed him about a matter of which he had no knowledge, and once again demanded that he apologize against his will.
Unable to control his anger, the client reportedly picked up a mop that was nearby and struck the homeroom teacher several times.
When the homeroom teacher cried out in alarm, students and a teacher from the next classroom came running, and the frightened client fled from the school.
The next day, at the thought of facing the homeroom teacher before going to school, the client was reportedly still full of anger.
On his way to school, a knife displayed at a mart caught his eye. He reportedly bought the knife on impulse, called his mother to say that he would kill the homeroom teacher and then kill himself, and then went to the school.
The homeroom teacher had not yet arrived at the school, and the client reportedly saw the teacher who had come running when he had assaulted the homeroom teacher, and threw the knife toward that teacher.
When that teacher fled, the client chased after him and threw the knife once more. The knife did not come anywhere near the teacher and fell to the floor.
The principal, who witnessed the situation, immediately reported it to the police, and the client is currently being held in a detention center.

Special bodily injury is a serious crime punishable by imprisonment for not less than one year and not more than ten years, and preparation for murder is a serious crime punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years.
However, because the Jinju attorney's client was a protected juvenile, he could instead be subject to the protective dispositions set out below.

Short-term probation by a probation officer 5. Long-term probation by a probation officer 6. the “Child Welfare Act” Entrustment to protective custody at a child welfare facility or other juvenile protection facility under it 7. Entrustment to a hospital, a sanatorium, or the “Act on the Treatment of Protected Juveniles, etc.” a medical rehabilitation juvenile reformatory under it 8. Referral to a juvenile reformatory for up to one month 9. Short-term referral to a juvenile reformatory 10. Long-term referral to a juvenile reformatory |
Because this was a serious crime punishable by imprisonment, there was a high likelihood of referral to a juvenile reformatory.
The Jinju attorney's client requested that referral to a juvenile reformatory, above all, be defended against.

The Jinju attorney's client was a student who, until this incident, had committed no delinquency or crime and had attended school diligently.

He harbors no resentment toward the teachers and no intention of retaliation. He is sincerely begging for forgiveness, and he has firmly resolved not to approach the school at all and to conduct himself with self-restraint.
The Jinju Attorney Emphasized That the Client's Guardian Was Petitioning for Leniency
