What is evidence forgery and how is it punished?
Vues36,449
Hello, I'm a business owner running a small factory. A while ago, an employee was injured at work, so I reported it to the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service for industrial accident processing, and they're currently resting. They're demanding industrial accident damages, saying the company is also at fault for their injury. They've already been recognized for industrial accident and compensated by the state — do I have to additionally pay damages?

Evidence forgery is a crime stipulated in Article 155 of the Criminal Act, referring to the act of intentionally manipulating or fabricating evidence to be used in trials.
This crime involves falsely creating evidence that may be used in criminal cases, civil lawsuits, administrative proceedings, etc., and submitting it to the court, and is regarded as an act that seriously undermines legal trust.
Evidence forgery can take various forms, including documents, statements, witness testimonies, and physical evidence.
Evidence forgery is a very serious crime, and the punishment is severe.
According to the Criminal Act, a person who commits evidence forgery may be punished with imprisonment of up to 5 years or a fine of up to 7 million won.
If the false evidence affected a serious case, the punishment may be even more severe.
In addition, evidence forgery includes not only the act of fabricating evidence but also submitting forged evidence, so all related acts may be subject to legal punishment.
Forging evidence disrupts legal ethics and disturbs the judicial system, which is a serious crime, so it is important to receive expert legal advice to avoid related legal risks.
