There are various types of protective dispositions that a school violence perpetrator may receive under the Juvenile Act.

They vary according to the duration and the eligible age of the protective disposition that a school violence perpetrator may receive, and the main protective dispositions are as follows.

▶ No. 1 Entrustment to protective custody
This is a measure of entrusting the juvenile to a guardian or a person who can care for the juvenile in place of a guardian, and the basic period is 6 months, extendable by 6 months depending on the circumstances.

▶ No. 2 Attendance order
This orders completion of an educational program, and it may be imposed for up to 100 hours and applies to those aged 12 or older.

▶ No. 3 Community service order

This is a disposition ordering the performance of volunteer activities in the community, and it may be imposed for up to 200 hours and applies to those aged 14 or older.

▶ No. 4 Short-term probation

This is where a probation officer observes and guides the juvenile for a certain period, and the period is 1 year and applies to those aged 10 or older.

▶ No. 5 Long-term probation

This is a disposition of referral to a juvenile reformatory for a short period within 1 month, and it applies to those aged 10 or older.

This is a disposition of keeping the juvenile in a juvenile reformatory for a period within 6 months, and it applies to those aged 10 or older.

This is a disposition of referral to a juvenile reformatory for a period within 2 years, and it applies to those aged 12 or older.
