I was trying to enter into a small commercial lease, but an acquaintance not registered as a broker drafted the contract for me and received money as brokerage fees. Later, I learned this violates the Licensed Real Estate Agents Act and I could also be punished. I just received help — could this still be a problem? Also, if punished, what sanctions follow?
