I got entangled in an insurance fraud committed by a younger acquaintance. I absolutely didn't directly cause an accident or collect insurance money — I only vaguely knew such acts were happening, and out of past relationship, I didn't report it anywhere. Does this also fall under aiding and abetting? If punished as an accessory, what is the punishment level?

You asked about school violence reports. The Act on the Prevention of and Countermeasures against School Violence defines acts that cause physical, mental, or property damage to students as school violence.

Therefore, if you suffered such damage from your friend, you can equally report them as a school violence perpetrator.

However, to be recognized as a school violence victim, the important thing in the case is that there must be evidence to prove the damage.

Examples include conversation contents containing harassment, medical certificates due to violence, and testimony from witnesses who saw the fight.

And unfortunately, it is difficult to cancel a school violence report that has already been filed.

Under current law, if the school principal becomes aware of school violence, they are required to organize a dedicated team, conduct a fact-finding investigation, and report the results to the superintendent of education.

However, exceptionally, there are cases where the school violence committee is not held and the case can be concluded at the principal level.

This applies when there is no medical certificate requiring 2 weeks or more of treatment, when there is no property damage or it has been restored, and when the violence is not continuous or retaliatory.

However, please note that such cases can only be resolved with written consent from the victim student and guardian and written confirmation from the school's dedicated team.
