First, occupational diseases under Article 37 of the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act are as follows.
▶ Diseases caused by handling or being exposed to factors that may cause harm to workers' health, such as chemicals, dust, pathogens, and work that places strain on the body in the course of work
▶ Diseases caused by work-related injuries
▶ Diseases caused by occupational mental stress resulting from workplace harassment, customer verbal abuse, etc.

Accordingly, Article 34 of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act specifies the criteria for recognizing occupational diseases.
