When a soldier violates orders under the Military Personnel Act, performs acts that damage their dignity, violates duty obligations, or neglects duties, it becomes grounds for military discipline.

Disciplinary actions imposed on soldiers who have committed such acts include dismissal, removal, demotion, suspension, salary reduction, confinement, and reprimand. Disciplinary actions are issued in the following cases.

① Reprimand: Identifying misconduct and admonishing not to commit misconduct in the future, applicable when the misconduct degree is mild and minor negligence

② Salary reduction: Reducing an amount equivalent to one-third of the salary, applicable when the misconduct degree is severe with minor negligence, or when the misconduct degree is mild with major negligence

③ Suspension and demotion: Maintaining the position but unable to engage in duties, lowering by one rank from the current rank, applicable when the misconduct degree is severe with major negligence, or when the misconduct degree is mild with intent

④ Removal and dismissal: Stripping of status, applicable when the misconduct degree is severe with intent
